Our IYT – Yoga Teacher Training Program
begins September 27, 2009. This program is accredited by the Yoga Alliance.
It will provide a strong foundation in all
branches of Yoga. You will learn about the history and background of Yoga,
the physiology and anatomy of movement, Yoga techniques for Asana, Pranayama,
Mudra, and Meditation and the art of teaching. You will learn traditional
poses, as well as modifications for different physical abilities. Experience
Yoga as a wellness tool and healing modality for many ailments. We have
found this program well suited for health care professionals, therapists
of all disciplines, and natural healing practitioners.
Yoga was traditionally taught one on one.
Therefore, we use this training in a small group setting to accommodate
individual attention throughout the program.
It runs with 16 monthly meetings mostly on
Saturdays or Sundays. Two of these training dates will be an extended
weekend, from Friday night through Sunday late afternoon at our lake house.
This setting will allow the exploration of a Yogic life style, and to
dive deeper into aspects of Yoga and Ayurveda.
We also recommend attendance of one weekend workshop on October 16-18,
2009 with Rama Jyoti Vernon, Founder of the International Yoga College.
Please ask for an outline and requirements
for this program. This will provide you with an overview and help you
decide whether this course is for you. The dates for all meetings, except
the first, will be established by group consensus. We will provide more
information at the time of your application during an interview.
