HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2023! Hello everyone! Most of you know that my life has changed with a growing family! As a grandmother, I have felt "blissed out" with a newborn baby in my arms! I also have days when I feel exhausted. I sometimes wonder if my exhaustion results from my wish to help a bit too much. It is interesting to observe myself and our young parents. So many memories arise about my time as a young mother. I recall the total joy, love, and excitement I had for the opportunity to experience my children's development. Still, I also viscerally remember the feelings of tiredness resulting from caring for everybody except myself. Are you also familiar with the feeling of having to carry the burden for everyone and everything without taking the time to care for your own body, mind, and spirit? A significant shift in my self-care routine came for me when I started my Autogenic Training (like Yoga Nidra) and my Yoga practice, and later on Ayurveda and meeting Dr. Lad! What a difference it made!! I want to take care of myself this time as I further embrace my role as a grandmother, and at the same time, I want to continue deepening OUR Yoga practice together. Since my priorities have changed with the birth of my first granddaughter, I would like to share with you how I picture this coming year. NEW MEMBERSHIP MODELMy yoga classes, courses and workshops will now be offered as part of a membership. As you know, the courses I provide offer simple yet powerful Yoga and Ayurveda practices for those who like a mindful, meditative, and nourishing Yoga practice. These practices help you to release stress and tension, restore your body and reconnect with the stillness that rests within your SELF. With this new membership model, all you are used to receiving will continue as before, only better! Starting January 11, you can join me as a member as we delve into the world of Yoga, Chakras, Meditation, Yoga Philosophy, Reiki and more! As a member, you will have access to all my live Zoom classes and the option to pick and choose from a wide selection of my pre-recorded yoga classes at your leisure. Our constantly growing library is a unique and flexible toolkit to customize your daily practice and fit your schedule and needs. The pre-recorded classes range from 15 to 60 minutes, allowing you to practice from the comfort of your home. In addition, as a member of the Replenish & Restore Yoga & Ayurveda Course, you can attend up to 96 available live Zoom sessions over the year, which will also be recorded and added to the already extensive library of my yoga classes. To book a Yoga Session or Membership, please
THE COURSE LAYOUTHere is what I offer to you as a member of this year-long journey together: MEMBERSHIP IN THE REPLENISH AND RESTORE YOGA & AYURVEDA COURSE is divided into four parts over the year. During the first two parts of our course, we will take the Chakras (energy centers of the body) and the Koshas (the awareness sheaths) as metaphors to deepen your awareness within. Here, you will learn, practice, and develop:
Our course's 3rd and 4th parts will take place in the Fall and Winter. There, we will begin to understand the ancient but simple Yoga Philosophy, Yamas & Niyamas, and Kleshas in order to apply them to our daily life. Additionally, throughout the year, I will add short courses on Meditation, Deep Relaxation (Yoga Nidra), Chakra Meditations with Crystal Bowls (Sound Healing), Foot-Reflexology, Marma Chikitsa/Acu-Pressure Massage, How to Make Ghee, How to Make a Cleansing Nourishing Kitchari, etc. As a member, you will have access to all of these courses and their relevant pdfs and manuals! MEMBERSHIP INVESTMENTMembership in my Yoga offerings for 2023 is $46 per month (if paid in automatic increments resulting in only $552 for the entire year). However, paying the annual membership upfront is only $489, which is $40.75 per month and results in substantial savings! Most importantly, you will have continuous access to our Yoga practice. This arrangement will enable you to maintain your health, benefiting yourself and all around you all year round, including myself and my growing family! :) • Private Yoga Therapy Sessions and Ayurvedic Wellness Consultations are still available if the need arises. • There remains the option to buy eight sessions at a time, which can be used over the year for $122, but this framework does not include access to the yoga library of recorded yoga classes, courses, workshops, manuals, or pdfs. • Drop-in classes remain at $18 per class. I would love you to join me, and if you know a person in need of our practice, please let them know about this program! :) Much Love, Hannelore
Dear Yoga Friends:
As the year is coming to an end, I am grateful to our Yoga community and the experiences of the past year! Thank you all for your continuous support and enthusiasm! During this time of the year, I always enjoy celebrating with my family, but also taking the time to meditate, and reflect on my life, on its blessings and its challenges. This morning, during our Yoga practice, our little grandson Bear asked for “Loon-Yoga”! What is this? Well, he had observed that the loons carry their babies on their backs across the lake! So, we practiced Down-Dogs, Cobras, Table, and Child pose with Bear on our backs! So much fun! If you are a parent or grandparent, enjoy playing with your family! Our Yoga schedule for January is enclosed. Over this coming semester, we will be practicing with reflections on the Yoga Sutras. We will include Mudras, occasional chanting of the Sutras, and a few Mantras. Please sign up via e-mail, by PayPal, or bring the payment to class on January 8 or 9. If you plan to start later, let me know your starting date! As you have seen in the past, your favorite class fills up quickly. Please, sign up for our next fun-filled Valentine workshop: A Partner supported Restorative Practice on February 16, 2:00 - 4:30PM. This is a real treat for couples, partners, friends, moms & daughters, dads & sons! May this Season of Light bring you Joy, Peace, and Abundance! With much Love & Blessings, Hannelore Yoga Schedule
Classes begin again on January 8th, 2020
Upcoming Workshops 2020!
Hello Everybody!
September has been flying by so fast, and we enjoyed our first weekly Yoga classes. This Autumn & Wintertime, we are focusing on the Five Elements in detail to cultivate harmony and enhance our well-being! I like to remind you of my next TWO WORKSHOPS: On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 5-7:30PM, we'll have our OSTEOPOROSIS WORKSHOP at beautiful Shilo Farm in Eliot. Please, see some more explanations below! On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1-3:30PM (I changed from Saturday to SUNDAY), I will offer again our most favorite rejuvenating and revitalizing workshop! You will learn how to actively roll away blockages, learn about Marma - Acupressure points, and relax & rejuvenate in Restorative Poses, using particular essential oils for your Dosha/body-constitution. Preventing & Reversing Osteoporosis
Prevention of osteoporosis to strengthen and reclaim bone health should begin during perimenopause or latest at menopause. Bones grow stronger when they are used, as it is said: “Move it or lose it”! Yoga effectively supports bone health through postures, which engage and strengthen the bones. Relaxation techniques reduce stress, promote a feeling of well-being, and support our immune system. Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet strengthen digestion in support of the bone tissue.
The Skeletal System is our foundation. Bones build blood cells, store calcium and phosphorous, and provide a solid framework for upright posture and movement. Estrogen stimulates bone growth. During the early years of a woman’s life, bones reconstruct as quickly as they lose mass. However, by the age of forty and beyond, the hormonal levels shift, and the reconstruction of bones can dramatically weaken. Depending on constitution, life-style, and diet, the bone loss accelerates and leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Yoga Schedule
Hello Everybody!
I hope, you all had a wonderful relaxing summer! My summer was full of surprises as well as lovely visits from dear friends and family. What kind of surprises? Well, as some of you know, I injured myself while attempting some hard-core gardening ;) One broken fibula and a sprained foot have taught me many things such as the value of rest and relaxation. ❤ I like to look at this event as the Universe reminding me to rest and reflect more, to read and write, as well as take the time to accomplish a few personal goals. In fact, as a result of my accident, I found the time to become a provider for NAMA! I also invested in more continuing education for myself! As a result, I have so much to share with you! However, because rest and reflection are very important parts of living a full and healthy life I still need at least one more week of both while my injuries continue to heal. After one more week of rest, I hope that you will consider joining me in both rest and relaxation too by signing up for one of my upcoming relaxing workshops or by coming to my yoga classes at my new location (information below)! I look forward to seeing you all very soon! Much Love, Hannelore NEW LOCATION!
INNER BALANCE in Newington has moved and so after a wonderful year there, I have decided to take advantage of a different yoga space for some of our workshops!
Our new, beautiful location is at Shilo Farm in Eliot, - 88 Beech Road. Shilo Farm is a Yoga Retreat and Community Place. When you enter the farm, you might be greeted by goats and other animals. The Yoga studio is in the upstairs of a barn with radiant wooded floors and ceiling; it will remind you at my former Yoga studio! Even though only 4 miles away from down town Portsmouth, you are surrounded by nature. During Yoga Nidra time, you might hear the songs of chickens, which will help you drop even deeper into well needed deep relaxation. I will hopefully share some photos with you soon :) All weekly Classes are being held at the Community Church in Durham! It will be convenient and close for most of you! Private Consultations will continue at Inner Balance in Newington, which is a smaller space opposite door of our last location. I will also continue online consultations through ZOOM, FaceTime, and by phone! SESSIONS ARE BACK!
Our new session with weekly classes will start on September 11.
The Wednesday evening Yoga class is at 5:00-6:15 PM. The Thursday morning mixed-level class is at 9:00-10:15AM. The Therapeutic Back & Joint class is at 10:45-12:00. Enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer! ~NEW SCHEDULE~UPCOMING WORKSHOPSNew Hampshire’s Summer has arrived! According to Ayurveda, summer corresponds to Pitta, the Dosha made of fire and water. Pitta is responsible for digestion and transformation in the body and mind, thus its main site is in the small intestine. During the summer season, the fiery external temperatures influence the digestion and mental activities. Your appetite might go down, you might get aggravated, or perhaps you find that you can’t sleep as easily because of the heat. What can you do to balance your Dosha, if you are Pitta-dominant?
If you would like to dive deeper into this knowledge of Ayurveda, book a session with me and I'll help you discover your Dosha and cool down for the summer! We can have your session in person or online. ~ Hannelore Yoga & Workshop ScheduleAs you may notice, I have decided to take a summer break from my yoga classes in order to heal my broken fibula! I was too enthusiastic landscaping my garden with big rocks haha. I know that I will be better by September so I'll add more classes then. In addition, we will go back to sessions in September! I'll update you here with more information soon. Upcoming Workshops!
Hello Everyone!
Our Yoga classes are resuming this week: Tuesday 5:15PM and Thursday 9:30AM & 11:00AM at Inner Balance, Newington; Wednesday 5:00PM at DCC in Durham We had an amazing time in Malta!! It was so nurturing for body, mind, and spirit, just being present every day with another adventure! We discovered beautiful beach fronts close to our hotel, enjoyed delicious meals in Maltese traditions, walked for miles in nature as well as in ancient places. What impressed us most was the ancient history of Malta, which dates back 5,000 – 6,000 years! Ohhh, how amazing to be in these places and pick up the energy! Feeling into this ancient wisdom of 4000BC when the early settlers on Malta started building temples, with many of them built around 3600BC - all older than the Pyramids in Egypt, or Stonehenge in Britain! They oriented according to the Summer Solstice, Sun, Moon, and star positions! So very impressive! I just wanted to be still, walk, reflect, meditate, and so…. I didn’t send any photos …. just being in the moment! On two days, we did enjoy company and it was total fun to meet up with Mary, a Maltese student of mine, who had inspired me to come to Malta. It was soooo much fun to visit her in Birkirkara and stroll along the beautiful harbor of Birgu. On the following day, we took a ferry to Gozo, discovering the sister island of Malta. We would have never found these special places without Mary! :) Oh, yes, and since Eberhard and I had our 45th wedding anniversary, we took a ferry to Sicily to celebrate in the beautiful town of Taormina. We were honored by Mt. Etna, which was rumbling and steaming, while we had a clear view to the top of it. So exciting to have natural fireworks! As we returned to Berne, Switzerland, we enjoyed a gorgeous Summer day. A few places reminded me of our previous trip, last year in January, when I had a small group here in Berne. This time, sunshine and warmth made it so different. I will include a few photos to share our experiences. Enjoy! I am looking forward to seeing you this week! And please sign up for our Osteoporosis workshop on June 15. This is now accredited by NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) as continuing education PACE credits for Ayurvedic practitioners! Much Love, Hannelore Upcoming WorkshopsYoga & Workshop ScheduleHello Everyone! Last night, I returned back from CA, after having attended the NAMA-Conference (National Ayurvedic Medical Association). I had a wonderful time at 1440 Multiversity, a new school close to San Jose, with a breathtaking campus, landscape, and buildings. I feel uplifted by the inspirational talks, as well as fulfilled from reconnecting with old friends/colleagues and finding new friends in the Ayurvedic field; all sooo inspiring! This Year’s conference focused on: “Ayurveda & the Mind”. I enjoyed the many perspectives of psychology in Ayurveda, where masters/doctors of Ayurveda and scientific researchers reflected and discussed the therapeutic applications of Ayurveda: The combination of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda (that is what I do mainly!), working on the aspects of the Doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha, and how all need an individualized approach in treating health challenges. We can help clients wean out of anxiety and light depression by applying the qualities/Gunas of Rajas or Tamas to come into a balanced Sattvic life-style, which then affects the mood and emotions. We might apply herbs, if the person doesn’t use other medication, or work with a psychotherapist in conjunction! Of course, when the client has sufficient motivation to change their lifestyle, s/he becomes the co-investor, or co-creator of their health. The client becomes self-empowered in their own healing process! Using Ayurveda and therapeutic Yoga on the psycho-emotional level, we learn to become aware, to stop, breathe, realize, and understand the emotions, and bring out the best within us to shift and transform! I would like to invite you next week, Tuesday, May 7, 4-5PM to a Free Class! We will talk about an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse, and how we can include mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects into our Cleanse! Besides providing you with a Kitchari recipe, I will explain options to cleanse or transform on psycho-emotional levels. Simple daily practices which help us shift to a positive state of awareness and joy of life! Let me know, if you are interested!! Of course, call or email, if you would also like a private session with me! I am inspired to help you! :) Much Love and Blessings, Hannelore *** Here is my photo of the beautiful Conference Center, 1440 Multiversity! Upcoming Workshop

Hello Everyone!
We will have a Rest & Renewal Workshop this coming Saturday, March 23, 1:30-4:00PM. Since the Workshop "Guided Imagery & Creative Painting" did not fill, I am changing the theme to a R & R workshop. Those R & R's are Usually much appreciated and loved. Spring is coming and always brings us a boost of energy for new beginnings, and therefore, we can create a new intention while being in a restorative pose and then rounding it up with a Yoga Nidra plus Sankalpa-Intention. Hello Everybody!
We have a Reiki Share coming up this week on Tuesday, January 15 (4:00 - 5:00PM). We are a small group of Reiki practitioners who come together to practice on each other and to treat persons in need. Either the entire group treats one person for around 10 minutes, or we pair up and work one on one. Giving Reiki treatments as well as receiving them raises the vibratory levels of the energy field in and around our physical bodies. Reiki clears our energy pathways, lifts our spirit, and brings focus and relaxation to our minds. Attending as a practitioner or receiver is free. However, if you would like to give a donation, it is appreciated (towards the rent of the space). We meet at the upstairs Yoga studio of Inner Balance Pelvic Health & Wellness Center. If you would like to join us, please jot me an email at: yoga@moebiusyoga.com Much Love & Blessings, Hannelore *** The next Reiki Training is planned for the end of February (tentatively Feb 23). |
