EXPLORE INSIGHTS, TIPS, AND PRACTICES FOR HOLISTIC WELL-BEING
Dear Yoga Friends:
As the year is coming to an end, I am grateful to our Yoga community and the experiences of the past year! Thank you all for your continuous support and enthusiasm! During this time of the year, I always enjoy celebrating with my family, but also taking the time to meditate, and reflect on my life, on its blessings and its challenges. This morning, during our Yoga practice, our little grandson Bear asked for “Loon-Yoga”! What is this? Well, he had observed that the loons carry their babies on their backs across the lake! So, we practiced Down-Dogs, Cobras, Table, and Child pose with Bear on our backs! So much fun! If you are a parent or grandparent, enjoy playing with your family! Our Yoga schedule for January is enclosed. Over this coming semester, we will be practicing with reflections on the Yoga Sutras. We will include Mudras, occasional chanting of the Sutras, and a few Mantras. Please sign up via e-mail, by PayPal, or bring the payment to class on January 8 or 9. If you plan to start later, let me know your starting date! As you have seen in the past, your favorite class fills up quickly. Please, sign up for our next fun-filled Valentine workshop: A Partner supported Restorative Practice on February 16, 2:00 - 4:30PM. This is a real treat for couples, partners, friends, moms & daughters, dads & sons! May this Season of Light bring you Joy, Peace, and Abundance! With much Love & Blessings, Hannelore Yoga Schedule

Hello Everybody!
September has been flying by so fast, and we enjoyed our first weekly Yoga classes. This Autumn & Wintertime, we are focusing on the Five Elements in detail to cultivate harmony and enhance our well-being! I like to remind you of my next TWO WORKSHOPS: On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 5-7:30PM, we'll have our OSTEOPOROSIS WORKSHOP at beautiful Shilo Farm in Eliot. Please, see some more explanations below! On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1-3:30PM (I changed from Saturday to SUNDAY), I will offer again our most favorite rejuvenating and revitalizing workshop! You will learn how to actively roll away blockages, learn about Marma - Acupressure points, and relax & rejuvenate in Restorative Poses, using particular essential oils for your Dosha/body-constitution. Preventing & Reversing Osteoporosis
Prevention of osteoporosis to strengthen and reclaim bone health should begin during perimenopause or latest at menopause. Bones grow stronger when they are used, as it is said: “Move it or lose it”! Yoga effectively supports bone health through postures, which engage and strengthen the bones. Relaxation techniques reduce stress, promote a feeling of well-being, and support our immune system. Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet strengthen digestion in support of the bone tissue.
The Skeletal System is our foundation. Bones build blood cells, store calcium and phosphorous, and provide a solid framework for upright posture and movement. Estrogen stimulates bone growth. During the early years of a woman’s life, bones reconstruct as quickly as they lose mass. However, by the age of forty and beyond, the hormonal levels shift, and the reconstruction of bones can dramatically weaken. Depending on constitution, life-style, and diet, the bone loss accelerates and leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Yoga Schedule
Hello Everybody!
I hope, you all had a wonderful relaxing summer! My summer was full of surprises as well as lovely visits from dear friends and family. What kind of surprises? Well, as some of you know, I injured myself while attempting some hard-core gardening ;) One broken fibula and a sprained foot have taught me many things such as the value of rest and relaxation. ❤ I like to look at this event as the Universe reminding me to rest and reflect more, to read and write, as well as take the time to accomplish a few personal goals. In fact, as a result of my accident, I found the time to become a provider for NAMA! I also invested in more continuing education for myself! As a result, I have so much to share with you! However, because rest and reflection are very important parts of living a full and healthy life I still need at least one more week of both while my injuries continue to heal. After one more week of rest, I hope that you will consider joining me in both rest and relaxation too by signing up for one of my upcoming relaxing workshops or by coming to my yoga classes at my new location (information below)! I look forward to seeing you all very soon! Much Love, Hannelore NEW LOCATION!
INNER BALANCE in Newington has moved and so after a wonderful year there, I have decided to take advantage of a different yoga space for some of our workshops!
Our new, beautiful location is at Shilo Farm in Eliot, - 88 Beech Road. Shilo Farm is a Yoga Retreat and Community Place. When you enter the farm, you might be greeted by goats and other animals. The Yoga studio is in the upstairs of a barn with radiant wooded floors and ceiling; it will remind you at my former Yoga studio! Even though only 4 miles away from down town Portsmouth, you are surrounded by nature. During Yoga Nidra time, you might hear the songs of chickens, which will help you drop even deeper into well needed deep relaxation. I will hopefully share some photos with you soon :) All weekly Classes are being held at the Community Church in Durham! It will be convenient and close for most of you! Private Consultations will continue at Inner Balance in Newington, which is a smaller space opposite door of our last location. I will also continue online consultations through ZOOM, FaceTime, and by phone! SESSIONS ARE BACK!
Our new session with weekly classes will start on September 11.
The Wednesday evening Yoga class is at 5:00-6:15 PM. The Thursday morning mixed-level class is at 9:00-10:15AM. The Therapeutic Back & Joint class is at 10:45-12:00. Enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer! ~NEW SCHEDULE~UPCOMING WORKSHOPSHello Everyone! Last night, I returned back from CA, after having attended the NAMA-Conference (National Ayurvedic Medical Association). I had a wonderful time at 1440 Multiversity, a new school close to San Jose, with a breathtaking campus, landscape, and buildings. I feel uplifted by the inspirational talks, as well as fulfilled from reconnecting with old friends/colleagues and finding new friends in the Ayurvedic field; all sooo inspiring! This Year’s conference focused on: “Ayurveda & the Mind”. I enjoyed the many perspectives of psychology in Ayurveda, where masters/doctors of Ayurveda and scientific researchers reflected and discussed the therapeutic applications of Ayurveda: The combination of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda (that is what I do mainly!), working on the aspects of the Doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha, and how all need an individualized approach in treating health challenges. We can help clients wean out of anxiety and light depression by applying the qualities/Gunas of Rajas or Tamas to come into a balanced Sattvic life-style, which then affects the mood and emotions. We might apply herbs, if the person doesn’t use other medication, or work with a psychotherapist in conjunction! Of course, when the client has sufficient motivation to change their lifestyle, s/he becomes the co-investor, or co-creator of their health. The client becomes self-empowered in their own healing process! Using Ayurveda and therapeutic Yoga on the psycho-emotional level, we learn to become aware, to stop, breathe, realize, and understand the emotions, and bring out the best within us to shift and transform! I would like to invite you next week, Tuesday, May 7, 4-5PM to a Free Class! We will talk about an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse, and how we can include mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects into our Cleanse! Besides providing you with a Kitchari recipe, I will explain options to cleanse or transform on psycho-emotional levels. Simple daily practices which help us shift to a positive state of awareness and joy of life! Let me know, if you are interested!! Of course, call or email, if you would also like a private session with me! I am inspired to help you! :) Much Love and Blessings, Hannelore *** Here is my photo of the beautiful Conference Center, 1440 Multiversity! Upcoming Workshop

Hello Everyone!
We will have a Rest & Renewal Workshop this coming Saturday, March 23, 1:30-4:00PM. Since the Workshop "Guided Imagery & Creative Painting" did not fill, I am changing the theme to a R & R workshop. Those R & R's are Usually much appreciated and loved. Spring is coming and always brings us a boost of energy for new beginnings, and therefore, we can create a new intention while being in a restorative pose and then rounding it up with a Yoga Nidra plus Sankalpa-Intention. |
