THE YOGA & AYURVEDA BLOG
EXPLORE INSIGHTS, TIPS, AND PRACTICES FOR HOLISTIC WELL-BEING
Hello Everyone! Last night, I returned back from CA, after having attended the NAMA-Conference (National Ayurvedic Medical Association). I had a wonderful time at 1440 Multiversity, a new school close to San Jose, with a breathtaking campus, landscape, and buildings. I feel uplifted by the inspirational talks, as well as fulfilled from reconnecting with old friends/colleagues and finding new friends in the Ayurvedic field; all sooo inspiring! This Year’s conference focused on: “Ayurveda & the Mind”. I enjoyed the many perspectives of psychology in Ayurveda, where masters/doctors of Ayurveda and scientific researchers reflected and discussed the therapeutic applications of Ayurveda: The combination of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda (that is what I do mainly!), working on the aspects of the Doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha, and how all need an individualized approach in treating health challenges. We can help clients wean out of anxiety and light depression by applying the qualities/Gunas of Rajas or Tamas to come into a balanced Sattvic life-style, which then affects the mood and emotions. We might apply herbs, if the person doesn’t use other medication, or work with a psychotherapist in conjunction! Of course, when the client has sufficient motivation to change their lifestyle, s/he becomes the co-investor, or co-creator of their health. The client becomes self-empowered in their own healing process! Using Ayurveda and therapeutic Yoga on the psycho-emotional level, we learn to become aware, to stop, breathe, realize, and understand the emotions, and bring out the best within us to shift and transform! I would like to invite you next week, Tuesday, May 7, 4-5PM to a Free Class! We will talk about an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse, and how we can include mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects into our Cleanse! Besides providing you with a Kitchari recipe, I will explain options to cleanse or transform on psycho-emotional levels. Simple daily practices which help us shift to a positive state of awareness and joy of life! Let me know, if you are interested!! Of course, call or email, if you would also like a private session with me! I am inspired to help you! :) Much Love and Blessings, Hannelore *** Here is my photo of the beautiful Conference Center, 1440 Multiversity! Upcoming Workshop

Hello everybody!
In the middle of the winter there is often a need for healing and for the uplifting of our spirits due to the lack of light and warmth. Therefore, I have decided, per the request of a few yogis, to give another Reiki I Training! I am offering this training on Saturday, February 23rd. The length of this training depends upon how many people sign up, but for now, it is scheduled to take place in one day over a period of four hours. In this training, we will come together to learn about the history of Reiki. You will be initiated by me into the traditional practice - attuned with previous Reiki Masters - channeling their energy and wisdom. As a result, you will experience four attunements which open the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras. Your vibrational frequency will be heightened and the energy within you will flow more strongly. You will also learn the hand positions of Reiki and how to treat yourself as well as others. Through Reiki you can heal physical ailments and improve your emotional and mental states of well-being. It will also lift up your spirit which is especially important now during this winter time when our energy is low and we need more light and warmth. I would like to invite you to join us for this training. It is being hosted at the Community Church of Durham on February 23rd from 9:30-1:30 (time allotted could change). In early Summer, I will also offer a Reiki II Training which will enhance the healing effects of Reiki Therapy because it also works with symbols and colors. This training is four times stronger than Reiki I. You need to have completed the Reiki I Training in order to participate in the Reiki II Training. Upcoming Reiki Share
Coming up on Tuesday, February 26th, I will host a Reiki Share where all previous participants can practice their Reiki Healing on one another. This practice will strengthen the vibrational healing. This Reiki Share is open to any person who has completed a Reiki Training.
My New Brochure
I have a new brochure! It has been created with love by Ashley and Daniela because they thought I should have one. :) I am excited about it and wanted to share it with you. Feel free to share it with others! ~ Hannelore
Yoga & Workshop Schedule
Hello Yoga Friends!
This year, the early snowfall brought us into an earlier Holiday Spirit. I am looking back on a year, filled with lots of work, adventurous travel, joy, and love. I thank you for your continuous support of my classes and workshops. We so appreciate our new place at Inner Balance in Newington and the Parlor of the Community Church in Durham. I am also grateful for our amazing Moebius Yoga Team, Ashley and Daniela, who worked tirelessly for creating this colorful, ever evolving website with their knowledge of technology and art, which I would have not been able to do by myself! We hosted and ‘adopted’ Ashley into our home who gave birth to her beautiful baby girl Isabella. We, as 'adoptive Oma & Opa', had such an amazing, precious time with the two of them and then Isabella’s father and family members, traveling from Peru and Texas to welcome Isabella! Our house was full of joy, and now a little quiet, but we will see each other again soon! The Holidays with Christmas will bring us a full house with all of our family members again, and I can’t wait to play with Bear, our grandson, and celebrate with all of them! I wish you a joyful and peaceful Holiday Season and safe travels, wherever you might go! Although, many of us will enjoy a full home with company and family time, let’s try to take a break for reflection and meditation in between. Our Yoga practice helps us find that inner peace, even in the midst of the business of the Season. May we all enter the coming year with peace at all levels of our being, with family and friends, and the world around us. The new Yoga schedule for the Year 2019 is enclosed. During the coming semester, we will deepen our exploration of the Chakras and so we will apply Mudras and new visualizations according to the Chakras. Additionally, I will teach you one rejuvenating restorative pose at the end of the class each week, combined with deep reflection. We have a number of great workshops coming up this coming year! Please sign-up early! I have to commit to the space a month ahead! If we do not receive sufficient sign-ups one month before the workshop, I unfortunately will need to cancel the workshop, so please sign-up ahead of time! I have scheduled a Reiki Share for January 15th, and a “Post-Holiday-Cleanse” for the second week of January. I encourage you to join me for some time of self-care to reset body and mind with an Ayurvedic Kitchari-Cleanse. As a SPECIAL OFFERING, I will offer a brief (15min) AYURVEDIC phone CONSULTATIONS for FREE! :) Plan the month of January as YOUR time to re-align! We all know, if it is not firmly in our schedule then other activities will get in the way! As of March 1st, I will be raising my price for Ayurvedic Consultations to $160 for the initial session and $70 for follow-ups. However, if you book your 1 ½ hour session before February 28th, you will pay only the former price of $150 with $60 for any follow-ups. Phone, FaceTime and Skype sessions are the same price. Please sign up on my website via PayPal or e-mail and send your payment to my office at 350 Hemlock Lane, Barrington, NH 03825. As you have seen in the past, your favorite classes fill up quickly. Have a wonderful Holiday season and a Happy New Year! With Much Peace & Love, Hannelore Early 2019 Yoga & Workshop ScheduleUpcoming Workshops!

Hello Everyone!
My most favorite Workshop is approaching! The Rest & Renewal with Marma Chikitsa and Essential Oils Workshop is extremely relaxing and rejuvenating, which is especially helpful during this busy time between the Holidays. This workshop gives you the opportunity to take care of yourself and restore your energy for the season and New Year! I invite you to sign up quickly because there are only two spaces left! See you on Saturday! Love, Hannelore
Hello everyone. If you're in New Hampshire then you are aware that today we had our first snow! For me, it originally felt so dreadful because my snowblower wouldn't work and I had to leave for errands in Manchester. So, sadly I had to go outside in the cold and shovel snow by hand!
I have just returned home from Manchester though and everything went well. I am here now, enjoying a delicious, warming cup of Chai Tea... it's in moments like this that I am grateful for my knowledge of Ayurvedic recipes like this chai. As I sit here sipping my tea, I can't help but also feel excited about the upcoming day of Thanksgiving. I find myself now planning ahead in regard to which recipe I will make - I love giving in to the gourmet side of myself ;) This year, my vegetarian turkey won't have creme because my joints have been more sensitive to dairy and so the "turkey" will instead have tahini and almond butter mixed with chestnut and mushrooms of all kinds... oh! And its served either in a pumpkin or a butternut squash! Without yoga, mindfulness and Ayurveda, I wouldn't have been aware as to why my body ached sometimes. Thank goodness for these wonderful and healing practices. :) I'd like to share my vegetarian turkey recipe with you here now so that you can possibly enjoy it's deliciousness as well! The mushrooms and chestnuts in it have so many nutrients that are beneficial to your body, including protein! The tahini is calcium and mineral rich, and the almond butter has a sweet taste to balance out the bitter taste of the tahini. The sauce is mixed with Ayurvedic spices like curry, turmeric, paprika, cumin, coriander, and ginger, as well as fresh thyme, rosemary and oregano which help to kindle your Agni (digestive fire) and harmonize your digestive system. The whole recipe is full of vitamins, which will help your immune system during this winter period :) If you have any questions about how to prepare it, please feel free to ask me! ~ Hannelore Delicious Stuffed Pumpkin Recipe
INGREDIENTS
* Cut the top off the pumpkin (about 1/3 of the upper part) so that it forms a bowl. Remove the insides (you can bake the seeds in the oven with a little bit of oil - feel free to add spices to it later and then enjoy them as an appetizer) and bake the pumpkin bowl in the oven between 380-400 degrees until it is soft. **** It is recommended that you oil the inside of the pumpkin with olive oil or sesame oil, as well as sprinkle some nutritional yeast inside of it. ****
* If you are using a squash, cut it in half, long ways, so that it also forms a long bowl. Scoop out the insides and bake both sides of the remaining squash in the oven, just as mentioned above regarding the pumpkin. Don't forget to add oil and nutritional yeast to the inside of the squash bowl. In the meantime... * Heat the Ghee first and then add and saute all of the spices and herbs in the ghee until the spices foam and you can smell them (be careful not to burn them, this requires all of your attention). * Now add the diced onion and let them sautee in the spices. You want to saute the onions until they are covered in spices in ghee. Stir until they become golden. * Next, add the chopped mushrooms. Stir them in until they are also covered in the ghee and the spices. Maybe chant love into your mushrooms as you cook them ❤ * Next, sprinkle some nutritional yeast onto the mixture and mix it together. * Next, add some wine to this lovely mixture. Allow the wine to bubble up and form a sauce. * Next, add some tahini and almond butter, stirring it in until the mixture is smooth and thick. * Finally, once the pumpkin or squash is finished baking (it is soft but not too soft - pay attention to it), remove it from the oven and fill the bowl portion with the above mixture. * Garnish with a branch of rosemary or parsley. ENJOY! Tomorrow's Workshop
Just a reminder that tomorrow's workshop starts at 1:30! I have two spaces left, so if you would like to join now last minute, you still can. Simply let me know asap :) This workshop on Saturday, November 17th includes a combination of Yoga, Ayurveda, and the Science of Western Nutrition, which when combined, is so worthwhile! For this amazing workshop, I am collaborating with Maria Larkin who is also at Inner Balance as a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Functional Medicine Practitioner. For more information about this workshop, visit the previous blog. Here is the link :)
