EXPLORE INSIGHTS, TIPS, AND PRACTICES FOR HOLISTIC WELL-BEING
New Hampshire’s Summer has arrived! According to Ayurveda, summer corresponds to Pitta, the Dosha made of fire and water. Pitta is responsible for digestion and transformation in the body and mind, thus its main site is in the small intestine. During the summer season, the fiery external temperatures influence the digestion and mental activities. Your appetite might go down, you might get aggravated, or perhaps you find that you can’t sleep as easily because of the heat. What can you do to balance your Dosha, if you are Pitta-dominant?
If you would like to dive deeper into this knowledge of Ayurveda, book a session with me and I'll help you discover your Dosha and cool down for the summer! We can have your session in person or online. ~ Hannelore Yoga & Workshop ScheduleAs you may notice, I have decided to take a summer break from my yoga classes in order to heal my broken fibula! I was too enthusiastic landscaping my garden with big rocks haha. I know that I will be better by September so I'll add more classes then. In addition, we will go back to sessions in September! I'll update you here with more information soon. Upcoming Workshops!

Between 18-30% of all women over sixty-five will suffer a hip fracture by the time they reach ninety. Prevention of osteoporosis should begin during perimenopause, or at least at any stage of menopause to strengthen and reclaim her bone health. Bones grow stronger when they are used, as it is said: “Move it or lose it”! Yoga effectively supports bone health through postures which stress and strengthen the bones, as well as relaxation techniques to reduce stress and promote a feeling of well-being in support of our immune system. Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet support an effective strong digestion in support of the bone tissue. The Skeletal System builds our support and foundation. Bones build blood cells, store calcium and phosphorous, and provide a solid framework for upright posture, support and movement. Estrogen stimulates bone growth. During the early years of a woman’s life, bones reconstruct as quickly as they lose mass. However, by the age of forty and beyond, her hormonal levels shift, and the reconstruction of bones can dramatically weaken. Depending on constitution, life-style, and diet, the bone loss accelerates and leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. According to Dr. Christiane Northrup, it can lead to “a potentially fatal disease.” Pay under Schedule -> Workshops or Rates
Hello Everyone!
Our Yoga classes are resuming this week: Tuesday 5:15PM and Thursday 9:30AM & 11:00AM at Inner Balance, Newington; Wednesday 5:00PM at DCC in Durham We had an amazing time in Malta!! It was so nurturing for body, mind, and spirit, just being present every day with another adventure! We discovered beautiful beach fronts close to our hotel, enjoyed delicious meals in Maltese traditions, walked for miles in nature as well as in ancient places. What impressed us most was the ancient history of Malta, which dates back 5,000 – 6,000 years! Ohhh, how amazing to be in these places and pick up the energy! Feeling into this ancient wisdom of 4000BC when the early settlers on Malta started building temples, with many of them built around 3600BC - all older than the Pyramids in Egypt, or Stonehenge in Britain! They oriented according to the Summer Solstice, Sun, Moon, and star positions! So very impressive! I just wanted to be still, walk, reflect, meditate, and so…. I didn’t send any photos …. just being in the moment! On two days, we did enjoy company and it was total fun to meet up with Mary, a Maltese student of mine, who had inspired me to come to Malta. It was soooo much fun to visit her in Birkirkara and stroll along the beautiful harbor of Birgu. On the following day, we took a ferry to Gozo, discovering the sister island of Malta. We would have never found these special places without Mary! :) Oh, yes, and since Eberhard and I had our 45th wedding anniversary, we took a ferry to Sicily to celebrate in the beautiful town of Taormina. We were honored by Mt. Etna, which was rumbling and steaming, while we had a clear view to the top of it. So exciting to have natural fireworks! As we returned to Berne, Switzerland, we enjoyed a gorgeous Summer day. A few places reminded me of our previous trip, last year in January, when I had a small group here in Berne. This time, sunshine and warmth made it so different. I will include a few photos to share our experiences. Enjoy! I am looking forward to seeing you this week! And please sign up for our Osteoporosis workshop on June 15. This is now accredited by NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) as continuing education PACE credits for Ayurvedic practitioners!
