EXPLORE INSIGHTS, TIPS, AND PRACTICES FOR HOLISTIC WELL-BEING
Hello Everybody!
September has been flying by so fast, and we enjoyed our first weekly Yoga classes. This Autumn & Wintertime, we are focusing on the Five Elements in detail to cultivate harmony and enhance our well-being! I like to remind you of my next TWO WORKSHOPS: On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 5-7:30PM, we'll have our OSTEOPOROSIS WORKSHOP at beautiful Shilo Farm in Eliot. Please, see some more explanations below! On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1-3:30PM (I changed from Saturday to SUNDAY), I will offer again our most favorite rejuvenating and revitalizing workshop! You will learn how to actively roll away blockages, learn about Marma - Acupressure points, and relax & rejuvenate in Restorative Poses, using particular essential oils for your Dosha/body-constitution. Preventing & Reversing Osteoporosis
Prevention of osteoporosis to strengthen and reclaim bone health should begin during perimenopause or latest at menopause. Bones grow stronger when they are used, as it is said: “Move it or lose it”! Yoga effectively supports bone health through postures, which engage and strengthen the bones. Relaxation techniques reduce stress, promote a feeling of well-being, and support our immune system. Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet strengthen digestion in support of the bone tissue.
The Skeletal System is our foundation. Bones build blood cells, store calcium and phosphorous, and provide a solid framework for upright posture and movement. Estrogen stimulates bone growth. During the early years of a woman’s life, bones reconstruct as quickly as they lose mass. However, by the age of forty and beyond, the hormonal levels shift, and the reconstruction of bones can dramatically weaken. Depending on constitution, life-style, and diet, the bone loss accelerates and leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Yoga Schedule
