EXPLORE INSIGHTS, TIPS, AND PRACTICES FOR HOLISTIC WELL-BEING
Hello Everybody!
September has been flying by so fast, and we enjoyed our first weekly Yoga classes. This Autumn & Wintertime, we are focusing on the Five Elements in detail to cultivate harmony and enhance our well-being! I like to remind you of my next TWO WORKSHOPS: On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 5-7:30PM, we'll have our OSTEOPOROSIS WORKSHOP at beautiful Shilo Farm in Eliot. Please, see some more explanations below! On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1-3:30PM (I changed from Saturday to SUNDAY), I will offer again our most favorite rejuvenating and revitalizing workshop! You will learn how to actively roll away blockages, learn about Marma - Acupressure points, and relax & rejuvenate in Restorative Poses, using particular essential oils for your Dosha/body-constitution. Preventing & Reversing Osteoporosis
Prevention of osteoporosis to strengthen and reclaim bone health should begin during perimenopause or latest at menopause. Bones grow stronger when they are used, as it is said: “Move it or lose it”! Yoga effectively supports bone health through postures, which engage and strengthen the bones. Relaxation techniques reduce stress, promote a feeling of well-being, and support our immune system. Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet strengthen digestion in support of the bone tissue.
The Skeletal System is our foundation. Bones build blood cells, store calcium and phosphorous, and provide a solid framework for upright posture and movement. Estrogen stimulates bone growth. During the early years of a woman’s life, bones reconstruct as quickly as they lose mass. However, by the age of forty and beyond, the hormonal levels shift, and the reconstruction of bones can dramatically weaken. Depending on constitution, life-style, and diet, the bone loss accelerates and leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Yoga Schedule

Hello Everybody!
I hope, you all had a wonderful relaxing summer! My summer was full of surprises as well as lovely visits from dear friends and family. What kind of surprises? Well, as some of you know, I injured myself while attempting some hard-core gardening ;) One broken fibula and a sprained foot have taught me many things such as the value of rest and relaxation. ❤ I like to look at this event as the Universe reminding me to rest and reflect more, to read and write, as well as take the time to accomplish a few personal goals. In fact, as a result of my accident, I found the time to become a provider for NAMA! I also invested in more continuing education for myself! As a result, I have so much to share with you! However, because rest and reflection are very important parts of living a full and healthy life I still need at least one more week of both while my injuries continue to heal. After one more week of rest, I hope that you will consider joining me in both rest and relaxation too by signing up for one of my upcoming relaxing workshops or by coming to my yoga classes at my new location (information below)! I look forward to seeing you all very soon! Much Love, Hannelore NEW LOCATION!
INNER BALANCE in Newington has moved and so after a wonderful year there, I have decided to take advantage of a different yoga space for some of our workshops!
Our new, beautiful location is at Shilo Farm in Eliot, - 88 Beech Road. Shilo Farm is a Yoga Retreat and Community Place. When you enter the farm, you might be greeted by goats and other animals. The Yoga studio is in the upstairs of a barn with radiant wooded floors and ceiling; it will remind you at my former Yoga studio! Even though only 4 miles away from down town Portsmouth, you are surrounded by nature. During Yoga Nidra time, you might hear the songs of chickens, which will help you drop even deeper into well needed deep relaxation. I will hopefully share some photos with you soon :) All weekly Classes are being held at the Community Church in Durham! It will be convenient and close for most of you! Private Consultations will continue at Inner Balance in Newington, which is a smaller space opposite door of our last location. I will also continue online consultations through ZOOM, FaceTime, and by phone! SESSIONS ARE BACK!
Our new session with weekly classes will start on September 11.
The Wednesday evening Yoga class is at 5:00-6:15 PM. The Thursday morning mixed-level class is at 9:00-10:15AM. The Therapeutic Back & Joint class is at 10:45-12:00. Enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer! ~NEW SCHEDULE~UPCOMING WORKSHOPSNew Hampshire’s Summer has arrived! According to Ayurveda, summer corresponds to Pitta, the Dosha made of fire and water. Pitta is responsible for digestion and transformation in the body and mind, thus its main site is in the small intestine. During the summer season, the fiery external temperatures influence the digestion and mental activities. Your appetite might go down, you might get aggravated, or perhaps you find that you can’t sleep as easily because of the heat. What can you do to balance your Dosha, if you are Pitta-dominant?
If you would like to dive deeper into this knowledge of Ayurveda, book a session with me and I'll help you discover your Dosha and cool down for the summer! We can have your session in person or online. ~ Hannelore Yoga & Workshop ScheduleAs you may notice, I have decided to take a summer break from my yoga classes in order to heal my broken fibula! I was too enthusiastic landscaping my garden with big rocks haha. I know that I will be better by September so I'll add more classes then. In addition, we will go back to sessions in September! I'll update you here with more information soon. Upcoming Workshops!
Hello Everyone!
Our Yoga classes are resuming this week: Tuesday 5:15PM and Thursday 9:30AM & 11:00AM at Inner Balance, Newington; Wednesday 5:00PM at DCC in Durham We had an amazing time in Malta!! It was so nurturing for body, mind, and spirit, just being present every day with another adventure! We discovered beautiful beach fronts close to our hotel, enjoyed delicious meals in Maltese traditions, walked for miles in nature as well as in ancient places. What impressed us most was the ancient history of Malta, which dates back 5,000 – 6,000 years! Ohhh, how amazing to be in these places and pick up the energy! Feeling into this ancient wisdom of 4000BC when the early settlers on Malta started building temples, with many of them built around 3600BC - all older than the Pyramids in Egypt, or Stonehenge in Britain! They oriented according to the Summer Solstice, Sun, Moon, and star positions! So very impressive! I just wanted to be still, walk, reflect, meditate, and so…. I didn’t send any photos …. just being in the moment! On two days, we did enjoy company and it was total fun to meet up with Mary, a Maltese student of mine, who had inspired me to come to Malta. It was soooo much fun to visit her in Birkirkara and stroll along the beautiful harbor of Birgu. On the following day, we took a ferry to Gozo, discovering the sister island of Malta. We would have never found these special places without Mary! :) Oh, yes, and since Eberhard and I had our 45th wedding anniversary, we took a ferry to Sicily to celebrate in the beautiful town of Taormina. We were honored by Mt. Etna, which was rumbling and steaming, while we had a clear view to the top of it. So exciting to have natural fireworks! As we returned to Berne, Switzerland, we enjoyed a gorgeous Summer day. A few places reminded me of our previous trip, last year in January, when I had a small group here in Berne. This time, sunshine and warmth made it so different. I will include a few photos to share our experiences. Enjoy! I am looking forward to seeing you this week! And please sign up for our Osteoporosis workshop on June 15. This is now accredited by NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) as continuing education PACE credits for Ayurvedic practitioners! Hello Everyone!
We will have a Rest & Renewal Workshop this coming Saturday, March 23, 1:30-4:00PM. Since the Workshop "Guided Imagery & Creative Painting" did not fill, I am changing the theme to a R & R workshop. Those R & R's are Usually much appreciated and loved. Spring is coming and always brings us a boost of energy for new beginnings, and therefore, we can create a new intention while being in a restorative pose and then rounding it up with a Yoga Nidra plus Sankalpa-Intention.
Hello everybody!
In the middle of the winter there is often a need for healing and for the uplifting of our spirits due to the lack of light and warmth. Therefore, I have decided, per the request of a few yogis, to give another Reiki I Training! I am offering this training on Saturday, February 23rd. The length of this training depends upon how many people sign up, but for now, it is scheduled to take place in one day over a period of four hours. In this training, we will come together to learn about the history of Reiki. You will be initiated by me into the traditional practice - attuned with previous Reiki Masters - channeling their energy and wisdom. As a result, you will experience four attunements which open the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras. Your vibrational frequency will be heightened and the energy within you will flow more strongly. You will also learn the hand positions of Reiki and how to treat yourself as well as others. Through Reiki you can heal physical ailments and improve your emotional and mental states of well-being. It will also lift up your spirit which is especially important now during this winter time when our energy is low and we need more light and warmth. I would like to invite you to join us for this training. It is being hosted at the Community Church of Durham on February 23rd from 9:30-1:30 (time allotted could change). In early Summer, I will also offer a Reiki II Training which will enhance the healing effects of Reiki Therapy because it also works with symbols and colors. This training is four times stronger than Reiki I. You need to have completed the Reiki I Training in order to participate in the Reiki II Training. Upcoming Reiki Share
Coming up on Tuesday, February 26th, I will host a Reiki Share where all previous participants can practice their Reiki Healing on one another. This practice will strengthen the vibrational healing. This Reiki Share is open to any person who has completed a Reiki Training.
My New Brochure
I have a new brochure! It has been created with love by Ashley and Daniela because they thought I should have one. :) I am excited about it and wanted to share it with you. Feel free to share it with others! ~ Hannelore
